GOLDEN RETIREMENT: Blaine '61 and Golden Keyes Parsons, att. '59-61, will be retiring this fall from a fourteen-year pastorate at Faith Mountain Fellowship Church in Red River, New Mexico. Golden's first novel, In The Shadow Of The Sun King, will be released by Thomas Nelson Publishing in September. This is the first in a four-book series of historical fiction based on Golden's family genealogy concerning the flight of the French Huguenots from the persecution of Louis XIV in seventeenth-century France. YOUNG 'UNS: Emily Rife Young '00 and her husband, Chris, announce the birth of Seth Thomas on March 24. He was welcomed by big sister Hannah. FAMILY AFFAIR: "The Reid family in Granbury is doing well," writes Jana Jones Reid '84. "Dan '84 and I are sending our first child off to college this fall. Joshua, pictured with us at his high school graduation in June, will attend Texas A&M." Their daughter, Jordan, is a high school sophomore, and their son, Joel, is in seventh grade. POLAR BEAR: During his tenure as deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Air Force, John Truesdell '63 has been a lot of places, including this trek to the North Pole and another trip to the South Pole. WATCH PARTY: Brian '95 and Kristen Eppner Ethridge '99 welcomed Carrie Elise on February 29. Kristen adds, "In keeping with her dad's love of tailgating at Baylor athletic events, Carrie hosted a watch party for all her stuffed bears during the NCAA basketball tournament."
