Levels of Membership

The alumni association has two traditional giving levels: annual memberships ($60) and life memberships ($1,000).
The four newer membership levels are: bronze ($100), silver ($250), gold ($500), and Torchbearer ($1,000) levels. These are annual gifts that entitle the donors to special privileges. Donors who become either gold, silver, bronze or Torchbearer members can make tributes to the alumni association in someone else's name. For example, a bronze member is designated one tribute, meaning he can give someone else an annual membership or simply pay tribute to someone who is already a member of the association. The names of the givers and their designated tributes will appear in an issue of the Baylor Line.

"With this membership program, we have added to our alumni family, which enables us to continue producing the Baylor Line and the many programs that have made the alumni association such an important part of Baylor," said Beth Michaelis, director of programs.

The Torchbearers Society is a category of membership created in response to life members who asked for a way to provide annual support of the alumni association, and the name refers to the famous challenge to graduates by former Baylor president Samuel Palmer Brooks, "To you, I hand the torch."
