LR0821 The Great American SongbookThis course will take a look at the most popular American songs from the '30s, '40s, and '50s, led by Ken Frazier, former head of the guitar department at McLennan Community College. Frazier has been playing guitar for more than fifty years and has performed with such artists as Willie Nelson, Johnny Gimble, Buddy Knox, and Garrison Keillor. He also appeared in the movie Honeysuckle Rose with Willie Nelson, Dyan Cannon, and Johnny Gimble. Following a twenty-four-year teaching career, he retired in 2005 but still performs and teaches in his own home studio.
