Under the direction of Jimmy '72 and Janet Dorrell '80, Cross Culture Experiences/Mission Waco announces two opportunities for service through travel. This interdenominational non-profit urban ministry will provide stimulating "hands-on" experiences to learn about local, national, and global poverty. Look below for more details.

Labor Day Weekend Plunge2Poverty
August 28 - September 1
Baylor alums and their families are invited to Waco for a holiday weekend that will combine serving the poor and marginalized of Waco with a visit to campus and the opportunity to attend the football home-opener Baylor vs. Wake Forest, which has been moved to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28. Activities include a backyard Bible club, hands-on work projects, a service at Church Under the Bridge, and interactive discussions and experiences about issues of poverty. Mexico City

Spend the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 in one of the world's most populated cities. Unlike most tours, which focus primarily on the cultural attractions, the "God in the Cities" Tours take you into the heart of the real life of the community. You'll spend time in an orphanage for physically and mentally disabled children, worship in a barrio, and sing and share with folks in group homes and institutions. There is also a day and a half of visiting the famous pyramids outside the city, the Basilica de San Juan, the Zocalo, the Athropological Museum, and shopping.
