Allen Holt '80, who joined the association staff April 1, 2008, earned a business degree from Baylor and worked as development
director in Baylor's Houston development office from 1987 to 2001.
After that, he worked in development for the Memorial Hermann
Foundation in Houston and Baylor College of Medicine and most recently
was director of annual giving for the McCombs School of Business of the
University of Texas at Austin. He said it was his strong ties to Baylor
that brought him back. "This is the only place I would have left UT to
come to," he said.
Holt said his work at the association is twofold—raising funds for the
association's Sesquicentennial Campaign and developing a program of
annual giving from donors willing to give $1,000 per year or more. He
will continue to be based out of Houston.
A native of Mexia, Holt has lived in Houston since his graduation from
Baylor. He has three sons—Wes, a student at the University of Houston;
Sam, a high school senior; and Ben, an eighth grader.
