Kent is the president of Christian Mission Concerns in Waco. He has served Baylor as a member of the Development Council and is a recipient of the W. R. White Meritorious Service Award. A deacon and Sunday School teacher at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, he is a past trustee of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and has coached baseball and softball in Midway Little League. He is married to Katy Hugghins Reynolds '75, and they have two children--Jonathan '05 and Melinda '06.
